This is a 4-hour live video conference (4 CPE credits on Regulatory/Professional Ethics) led by Michael Pakaluk, Ph.D., University Professor in philosophy and consultant on accounting issues and internal controls; recognized expert on ethics and co-author of Understanding Accounting Ethics.
After reviewing the principles of accounting ethics and some basic ideas of accounting professionalism, we will look at some recent high-profile scandals, including Wirecard and Archegos. The class will be rounded out with a lively discussion of recent news stories from the Wall Street Journal, looking at them from an ethical point of view. Participants are encouraged to bring to the class WSJ stories that interest them and that they would like to discuss.
