In this session, CPA and author of "Microsoft 365 Excel for Dummies" David Ringstrom delivers another collection of powerful speed-enhancing techniques to help you work more efficiently in Excel. David begins by demonstrating shortcuts for navigating files and personalizing the Quick Access Toolbar. He then shifts into rapid text cleanup techniques that use Flash Fill and Text to Columns, followed by fast methods for identifying and removing duplicates with conditional formatting and the UNIQUE function. You’ll also learn how to sort data consistently using custom lists, apply lesser-known keyboard and menu shortcuts, and accelerate formatting tasks using smart paste options. The session concludes with a practical walkthrough of combining worksheets with Power Query to streamline data consolidation.
David demonstrates every technique at least twice: first on a PowerPoint slide with numbered steps, and then live in Excel for Windows using the subscription-based Microsoft 365 version. Differences between Microsoft 365 and earlier perpetual versions of Excel (2021, 2019, and earlier) are clearly identified during the session and reinforced in the accompanying handouts. Participants also receive an Excel workbook containing many of the examples used in the presentation.
